About the Amin Report

The Amin Report is a weekly commentary by artist/developer/reporter Ido Amin, every tuesday (local time) from the middle-east unless I sleep late. We used to broadcast via PointCast Connections, we don't bother anymore, unless you demand. Yes, this is broadcast-on-demand!

Under the "3rd World Fox" logo, and in e-tabloid format, the report focuses on lo-budget hi-tech, e-politics power struggles, local e-affairs and Internet-on-$00-a-day.

Previous stories: we were the first to expose MS-Europe secret NDA-jeopardizing "survey", highlight ICQ, now integrated in MS products. We exposed the bizzare "Push" toilet rituals at Netscape. We covered the wailing wall live-cam war, the status of surfing with spiritual authorities, naked girls and secret army documents, and many more fresh and intriguing themes. When we tell a joke, it is months before PC Magazine.

A rare photo of Amin on duty, mingling with postfeminist cyberbabes and in SF, CA, was published in netinsider (see? He's the guy chatting with the Netscape site chief editor, on the right).

  1. What is this site?
This is a weekly column by Ido Amin, published on the Internet and in various Israeli papers.

  2. Who's Amin?
Ido Amin net record begins at 1986. He is currently doing reporting, Internet design and development, and has a weekly cartoon column in HA'ARETZ, Israel's high-brow daily. His portfolio includes museum exhibitions (see huge velvet wall carpets at temporarily abandoned site), and some music and video clips. His works are sometimes controversial, and can be described... eventually. Even uploaded.

  3. Do you have a political view?
Oh, I have dozens of zem.

  4. What's the little critter?
The little critter is a 3rd World Fox, naturally, originally designed as a logo for Amin's record label "3rd World Fox" (will upload some music one day, if there is enough demand). It does not look like a fox - more like a limping hyenna - but that's what you get in the 3rd world when you order a fox. It works just the same and costs much less. Welcome to Israel.

  5. Why don't you provide a link to the sites you discuss?
I do. Click the title on every page.

  6. Do you recall details about something you mentioned n months ago?
    No.

  7. Are you available for...
    Yes. Relocation considered.

  8. Why you little...
I love you too. Copies of abuse mail will be mailed to your postmaster, and maybe posted here in my abuse mail collection page.

  9. Is that your real name?
Yep. "Ido" should be actually spelled "Edo", and it's in the bible. No... I was pulling your leg. My real name is Madonna.

  10. Why the Hebrew version?
The Hebrew version is published weekly in Captain internet, the multimedia supplement of Ha'aretz daily in Israel. There are slight differences between the versions due to editing, afterthoughts and overwork.

  11. Who/what designed this site?
Yours truely, using propietary ShoestringTM technology. It's a concept not unlike F*page - they came later, and we do more languages (will relocate). BTW, all artwork is original and copyrighted and I'll come after you with my lawyer and my pals from Be'er-Sheba.

    more questions? this way please
